represent Scribendi.com in the 2011
Amazing Race.

This past weekend, two members of the Scribendi.com team took a break from editing and proofreading to participate in the 2011 Chatham-Kent’s Amazing Race. In our second year participating in this event, our team, "The Sons of Hemingway," battled 27 other teams in an all-day event that had our editors eating pig heart and headcheese, doing laps in a pool, and completing difficult puzzles and mazes.

"The people involved in the Amazing Race are what make competing such a unique experience," said Neil Wood, one of our In-house Editors, who was proud to represent our company. "Scribendi.com is proud to have upheld our tradition of supporting the CK Amazing Race and is excited to serve and support worthy causes throughout our community."

The United Way of Chatham-Kent's mission is to improve lives and build community in Chatham Kent. This year was the 6th annual Amazing Race and brought in over $80,000 from fundraising, bringing the six-year total to well over $500,000. One hundred percent of the funds are designated to the United Way of Chatham-Kent’s funded agencies, programs, and services.

"Scribendi.com always has a blast in the Amazing Race, as it is a great time," said Chandra Clarke, President. "We are also thrilled that we were able to raise $800 for a fabulous cause."

To raise money in support of our Amazing Race team, we spent Canada Day at Art in the Park, painting faces and making animal balloons for donations. The event was a success due to the amazing support that we received from Chatham-Kent residents.

Scribendi.com is looking forward to competing in the 2012 Amazing Race.
