Scribendi.com's 2006 Short Story Contest Offers Grand Prize of up to $5,000

We have just announced details of our 2006 Short Story Contest.

Entries received by September 25, 2006, will compete for a grand prize worth up to $5,000 USD. The second place winner will receive up to $500 USD, and the third place winner will receive up to $50 USD. The contest places no restrictions on genre or subject. Entries will be judged on the basis of clarity and presentation of the subject, quality of language, and originality of the subject.

Only original, unpublished stories of no more than 3,000 words may be submitted. Submissions must be made using the electronic submission form on our web site. We require that writers provide their entries in one of several standard PC-based word processing formats. Each manuscript must be accompanied by an entry fee of $15 USD, payable online via MasterCard, Visa, or PayPal.
