In-house Positions
Marketing and Sales Assistant (MSA)
The MSA must maintain and improve Scribendi’s exposure through marketing. The MSA must increase the customer base and Scribendi web site visits using web marketing, internal and external press releases, and various advertising engines. The MSA should recommend awards that Scribendi can apply for, and identify case studies, white papers, interviews, and other opportunities for publicity. Specifically, the MSA will be responsible for content development, search engine optimization techniques, such as link building, and running social media marketing initiatives.
The MSA will also be responsible for generating leads, assisting with the development and maintenance of sales and promotional materials, planning and conducting direct marketing activities, creating sales scripts and pitches, conducting market and sales research, developing sales and marketing presentations, and monitoring market conditions and product development.
The MSA should be able to troubleshoot small computer issues, work with multiple file formats, and learn and provide recommendations on new software and technologies. Monitoring ongoing marketing and sales initiatives through the creation of a monthly report is required.
Special Requirements of the Job
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, particularly with respect to good use of English grammar and punctuation; excellent researching skills; strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; must be able to multi-task; excellent computer skills, particularly as they pertain to search engine marketing and research; excellent reading comprehension skills; strong creative writing skills; ability to take initiative; and a strong desire to engage in continuous learning.
Minimum Education Requirement: completion of university coursework in a marketing/business program.
With regard to working relationships, the MSA should be cordial, friendly, flexible, good-natured, approachable, adaptable, receptive, responsive, and accommodating.
Must be proficient using computers, as well as word processing and e-mail. Needs to know, or be comfortable learning, how to use video equipment and have basic camera knowledge. A working knowledge of Adobe Suite is an asset.

Customer Relationship Specialist
Needed to enhance Scribendi.com’s customer service availability on weekends and evenings, proactively resolve issues, and provide a superb customer experience. Personable and outgoing recent graduates from college-level administrative assistant programs are encouraged to apply, particularly if they are able to stay calm in the face of comma-splice crises.
As Scribendi is an editing and proofreading company, it goes without saying that all applicants should have excellent written and verbal communications skills, particularly with respect to the proper use of English grammar and punctuation. If you don’t know what an apostrophe is for, you could be in trouble. Bonus marks will be given to anyone who understands how to use a semicolon.
Compensation includes comprehensive benefit package, flexible hours, and personal time. Pay will be based on experience, and all successful applicants will be subject to a background check and police clearance.

Telecommute Positions
Editor/Proofreader
As one of our talented remote editors, you'll have the ability to work from home while choosing the types of assignments that interest you. You can interact with both in-house and other remote staff through online forums and company newsletters and memos, and you'll also receive free training and incentives that can be redeemed at online retailers. You won't have any of the hassle of bidding or pitching to clients, but you will have job security and be paid promptly.
Working with Scribendi.com requires a moderate level of computer and Internet knowledge. You need to be comfortable downloading and uploading files, attaching files to e-mails, saving and finding files on your computer, file transfers, renaming files, using a web site interface, and using an instant messaging service. You should have a good working knowledge of the major document file formats and their associated software programs. As we also sometimes get documents that misbehave, some ability to troubleshoot technical problems is helpful.
Standard Qualifications:
- A university degree in a relevant field
- At least three years of experience in editing, writing, document production, or language teaching
- English must be your native language
- Excellent reading comprehension skills, and the ability to follow written instructions and work independently
- Be absolutely fanatical about meeting deadlines
- An average editing/proofreading speed of 1,000-1,500 words per hour
