Manuscript Editing Experts, Scribendi.com, Gear Up for The Word On The Street
Scribendi.com is excited to sponsor the Wordshop Marquee at this year’s The Word On The Street festival
Scribendi.com is busy preparing for its participation in this year’s The Word On The Street event on September 23 in Toronto, Ontario. This will be its first year as the Wordshop Marquee sponsor, one of the festival’s most popular venues. Scribendi.com, a professional editing and proofreading company, will also have a booth set up to meet with the 200,000 authors that will attend the event. Scribendi.com will give authors the opportunity to win a variety of exciting prizes.
"We’re very excited to be part of such a well-regarded and fun event in Toronto. We love to support projects that encourage creativity and literacy," says Chandra Clarke, President of Scribendi.com.
The Wordshop Marquee is coordinated by the faculty of the Humber School of Writers, who will host a day packed with writing workshops covering the craft and career strategies. There are a number of exciting segments this year: Bestseller!; How Not to Get Published; The Insider’s Guide: How to Get Published in Perilous Times; and Straight to Ebooks. The presenters will be Mike O’Connor, Janice Sawerbny, Wayson Choy, Priscila Uppal, Eva Stachniak, Jack David, Antanas Sileika, Kim Moritsugu, Cynthia Good, Luba Lesychyn, Greg Ioannou, Richard Scrimger, and Hadley Dyer.
"Aspiring writers should know that literature is not a monologue but a conversation of some of the best minds, often at a certain time and place, and that time and place this year is at The Word On The Street," says Antanas Sileika, Director of the Humber School for Writers and co-host of the Scribendi.com Wordshop Marquee. "Nobody publishes into a vacuum, and The Word On The Street helps give context to today’s writing and publishing in Canada. The Humber School for Writers runs sample classes and brings together agents, writers, and publishers who can also be found at other venues all over the street."
The Word On The Street takes place Sunday, September 23, at Queen’s Park Circle in Toronto from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
