Funding to be used toward hiring and training staff
Scribendi.com has been awarded skills development funding. The funds, delivered by Community Futures Development Corporation of Chatham-Kent, are part of the $450,000 Community Adjustment Fund (CAF), which is designed to help local businesses, individuals, and non-profit organizations develop business opportunities.
“We’re thrilled to receive this,” said Scribendi.com President Chandra Clarke. “This funding will allow us to significantly upgrade the skills of our local workforce, and it fully supports our goal of being a strong and robust provider of white-collar jobs in Chatham-Kent.”
The CAF is part of the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario program, an initiative of Canada’s Economic Action Plan.
Specifically, the skills development funding is designed to:
- assist and encourage on-the-job training of employees;

- provide transferable skills to employees; and
- contribute to the overall strength of the workforce capabilities of the area.
